A Curated List of Authoritative Websites On Outsourcing to India

If you are looking to build an offshore team in India, or are at least thinking about it, below is a curated list of websites that you should visit to get a good overview of what is on table.

If you are still considering India vs. someone else, here's an AT Kearney report from 2021 to get you started.

Googling how to start a team in India will get you fully SEO optimized content that is very similar, but doesn't provide much information.

1. First and foremost, start with this Tech Republic article.

2. NASSCOM - the National Association of Software and Services companies is the largest trade and lobbying group for the IT/ITeS industries in India. Here you will find tons of content, statistics and reports.

3. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology or MEiTY to get information about policies and programs. Some data here may be old or incomplete.

4. MEiTY Startup Hub is an organization under MEiTY created for promotion of a tech startup ecosystem.

5. Startup India is another startup site setup under the Commerce and Industries ministry to provide structure and organization to the startup scene.

6. Services Export Promotion Council of India setup under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce provides trade and export related services to exporters from India. Once you setup an offshore team in India, you technically become a software or services exporter.

7. Software Exporters Association of Pune works with government agencies and provides support for member software companies. This is an obvious plug for Pune, where I am located. 😀

8. MCCIA - Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture is a trade body that mainly works with Food Processing, Automotive and Electronics industries in the state of Maharashtra.

9. IESA - India Electronics and Semiconductor Association is the apex organization in India working for the benefit of Semiconductor products, services, IP and EDA software companies in India.

Of course, there is an easier way. Get a trusted partner and tell them what you want - they will take care of everything. Get in touch with me here if you want more information.
